After a long wait, The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, which was postponed since September 2020, will finally be released on May 28 this year.
Filmed in summer 2019, it’s finally coming to light, with the first trailer being out on April 22.
It shows a glimpse of the story that is, unlike the first two films, not about a haunted house but saving a young boy from a demonic possession that led him to commit a murder.
The Devil Made Me Do is based on real events dating back to the 1980s when demonic possession was cited for the first time in U.S history as a defense argument in court.
The storyline follows the steps of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, a husband and a wife who investigate the case.
The film also stars Sterling Jerins as Warrens’ daughter Judy and Ruairi O’Connor as Arne Cheyenne Johnson, the young boy of the story.
It is directed by Michael Chaves to the story of David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and James Wan, the same trio who wrote and directed the first two films.
In a lot of ways, this is the biggest ‘Conjuring’ movie,” Chaves told IGN earlier. “I showed the final cut to [star] Vera [Farmiga] and her husband and they agreed, and they were like this is the darkest Conjuring movie.”
According to a statement released by Warner Bros, ’The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even experienced, real-life paranormal investigators.
“Being a fan of the franchise, I was honestly really nervous at first breaking with convention, breaking with a lot of things that are tradition, but I think that what we’ve done is woven the language and the things that you do want from a Conjuring film — the scares, the Warrens, their relationship — [and [pushed them] to the limits in this fresh and exciting new direction,” Chaves elaborated.
The cast also includes many other amazing actors such as Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Julian Hilliard. “
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is the seventh film in the “Conjuring” Universe, including the first two “Conjuring” films, “Annabelle” and “Annabelle: Creation,” “The Nun,” and “Annabelle Comes Home.”
