Flashing back to the beginning of last year, we had heard news about Rihanna landing a deal with the French multinational luxury corporation LVMH, which also happens to own Louis Vuitton, Dior, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs, among many other beloved high-end brands. The initial plan was to establish Fenty as a new fashion line, but now, it seems that LVMH and Rihanna collectively came to the decision of suspending this fashion route.

Instead, Fenty will be focusing all its brilliant efforts on cosmetics, skincare and lingerie. In a recent statement provided to Pitchfork, LVMH announced:
“Following the completion of a fundraising round where L Catterton has taken a stake into Savage X Fenty, LVMH and Rihanna reaffirm their ambition to concentrate on the growth and the long-term development of Fenty ecosystem focusing on cosmetics, skincare and lingerie. In the meantime, Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW [ready-to-wear] activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions.”
