Flair Magazine Egyptian Actress Somaya El Khashab is revealed at last on the eighth episode of “The Masked Singer: Who are you” as none other than Scheherazade. The show is screened every Wednesday on MBC1, the TV channel with the amazing panelists: Qusai Khouli, Cyrine Abdelnour, Hassan El-Raddad, and Mouhnned al-Hamdi; so, tune in on Wednesdays to see all the big reveals. In the eighth episode, and by using the given clues, Mouhnned Al-Hamdi was the only one who managed to discover the identity of ‘Scheherazade.’
Despite the disagreement of his fellow-panelists, he insisted it was non-other than the Egyptian Actress Somaya El Khashab. Not only that, but he even thought that Scheherazade gave a dazzling performance and put on a fantastic show. Somaya El Khashab expressed her ultimate happiness with her participation in the show and her choice of character. El Khashab went on about her choice for the character of Scheherazade commenting, she did so because everyone knows Scheherazade as a beloved character with beautiful features. she continued with what Scheherazade and she had in common, that was the resemblance of her in femininity and tenderness while still being known as a strong, unbroken and bold woman with a unique personality and magnificent character.
Despite wowing the panelists and the audience, Somaya mentioned the challenges she faced as Scheherazade. She said that the most challenging thing she had to face during the episodes with her performances was wearing Scheherazade’s head that was very heavy in weight, bigger than the size of her body, and made it more unable to move smoothly on stage. Somaya also mentioned that the costume was not as comfortable as ever, as she almost slipped more than once while going up the stage. El Khashab further mentioned her admiration for the “Cheetah” costume of her fellow-participant. She is reportedly preparing to film Moses (Moussa) in the upcoming days, screening in 2021 and entering the next iconic Ramadan race. It’s announced that Moses (Moussa), starring Muhammad Ramadan, Somaya El Khashab, Abir Sabri, Riad Al Khuli, and Syed Rajab, is produced by Synergy.
While Somaya was preparing for a Ramadan TV series, she thought that “The Masked Singer” is a very unique and creative show. Her participation in it was such a new exciting experience, she explained. As she also added that she’s going to miss being Scheherazade. The Masked Singer itself is a unique, creative, and interesting show to be in; as its idea revolves around the show’s panelists and the audience participating from their homes to guess the name of the star, celebrity, public figure, etc. behind the disguise.
This guessing process is done according to the given various clues, hinting at the identities of the disguised stars after each of their performances, to guess who they are. From different generations and multiple fields, Arab stars are expected to participate in this show. Hosted by Annabella Hilal, at the end of each episode, the audience engages beside the panelists as the team of investigators from home and work on revealing the identity of only one participant of the stars. That happens through one process which is voting, and consequently excluding one of the participants with the least number of votes for the episode’s performance to reveal his true identity. This show is newly introduced to the middle east; however, it is based on the “King of Mask Singer,” that is an international music game show franchise of the same name; where, “The Masked Singer: Who are you” is originated from the South Korean program.
