You don’t have to wait for the weekend to binge some great shows. We are in the middle of a pandemic, winter, the week, and well…why not? We won’t judge. In fact, we have picked 5 must-watch shows to add to your binge-list.

Search Party (HBO Max)

Because you love drama…If you love drama then Search Party is the HBO Max show you need to binge as soon as possible. The show centers around a group of friends and oozes millennial culture unlike any other show out right now. From mimosa-laden brunches to Instagram-worthy NYC outfits the characters are addictive in their own right but the plot is what will keep you watching. Now in its fourth season, the show keeps taking wild twists and turns and is unique in the fact that you can’t pick up and watch from any point—you have to watch in chronological order or you WILL miss something. The dark drama-comedy has become a cult-classic, co-creator Charles Rogers explains that fans can expect the same high-paced plot in season four saying, “This season is definitely our darkest season yet. In writing it we set out to also make it our funniest season, in that the comedy was just as pronounced as some of the darker moments.”

Bling Empire (Netflix)

Because you’re a reality TV junkie…Netflix has mastered the original show and this new reality series can best be described as “Crazy Rich Asians” meets “Selling Sunset” meets “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Netflix’s hot new show, Bling Empire follows a group of uber-wealthy Asian-Americans as they traverse Los Angeles with black cards and a taste for the luxurious. What makes this show particularly fun is that it follows a similar format to the Persian-version “Shahs of Sunset” where the cast are real-life friends and the cameras are simply there to document their lives of luxury. Like any great reality series, there is drama, shopping, dining, a love triangle, secrets, and jealousy.

Pretend It’s a City (Netflix)

Because you love people watching and cultural commentary…Most readers are too young to remember Fran Lebowitz in her heyday but Netflix has brought the 70-year-old writer back for an amazing limited series focusing on her cultural narratives directed by friend Martin Scorsese. Lebowitz, since experiencing what she calls “writers blockade” after her two incredibly popular books, “Metropolitan Life,” in 1978, and “Social Studies,” in 1981 is a cultural critic, NYC philosopher, and unintentional comedian. Even if this is your first time experiencing the brash New Yorker it is good to know that she has lost none of her punch over the years. Lebowitz is intoxicating and hard to look away from, “Making distinctions is my profession, and judging is my profession,” Lebowitz tells Scorsese in the second episode. Strap in for some witty banter, hilarious takes on topics ranging from e-cigarettes to wellness culture, and amazing shots of The Big Apple.

Dickinson (Apple TV+)

Because you think you’re a poet…If you think you are a poet or simply love the work of American poet Emily Emily Elizabeth Dickinson then you have probably already watched the first two seasons of the Apple TV+ show, Dickinson. Luckily, fans loved the show so much that it was one of the top-rated shows for Apple TV+ and season 3 is already here! The show does an amazing job of mixing the historic events of the poet’s life in Amherst, Massachusetts as well as modern language, music, and references. The star-studded cast helps to bring the show to life in a way that is unlike anything else set in this time period. Wix Khalifa plays the role of death, how fun is that? Fans can expect to see the Dickinson cast members Anna Barishnikov, Ella Hunt, Adrian Blake Enscoe, Jane Krakowski, and Toby Huss back for season 3.

Flight Attendant (HBO Max)

Because you love a good murder-mystery…Flight Attendant on HBO Max is one of the most tantalizing new shows out this year. Based on the book by the same name by author Chris Bohjalian the plot centers on a heavy-drinking globe-trotting flight attendant named Casie Bowen played by Kaley Cuoco (you know, the girl from The Big Bang Theory) who gets into a whole lot of trouble after a one night stand. The show follows the comedy-thriller format where one long night sets the plot for the entire first season. From the onset, the catch-me-if-you-can vibes and a dead body (within the first 10 minutes) will hook you. What was supposed to be a limited series was so popular that a second season is already in the works.
