Wow, 2020 is a year that no one will soon forget. The pandemic has pushed creativity in new and exciting ways forcing designers, runway models, and awards shows to find alternative solutions. Like many other events, the 72nd Annual Emmy Awards went virtual this year—breaking records in more ways than one. Red carpet or not, the nominees didn’t hold back when it came to awards show glamour. Check out Flair’s 5 Best Dressed picks as well as a complete list of Emmy winners.

Yara Shahidi always serves sophisticated glam when gracing the red carpet. The activist, producer, actress, and proud Iranian-American wore a strapless Prada dress featuring black feathers and jewels that dripped down to the floor.  Styled by Jason Bolden, Yara paired the gown with natural makeup and braids proving that you don’t need a real red carpet to be a superstar.

Zendaya wore not one but two fabulous dresses to the 72nd annual Emmy Awards. Wildly enough, this wasn’t the highlight of her night. All eyes were on the young star as she accepted her historic win for ‘Best Lead Actress in a Drama Role’ for her role in “Euphoria.” Being the youngest winner to ever receive this award made her Christopher John Rogers silk taffeta dress and Louboutin heels unable to compete with her star-power.

Superstardom runs through Tracee Ellis Ross’s veins and seeing her on best-dressed lists repeatedly is no surprise. Her floor-length Alexandre Vauthier gold gown was breathtaking and timely as it was paired with a matching mask. Jimmy Choo heels and vintage Tiffany & Co jewelry completed the chic “Black-ish” actresses look.

Canadian Annie Murphy a.k.a. Alexis Rose served nostalgia when she wore her on-screen character’s “A” necklace to complete her Emmy’s look. A black tailored suit worn over a sheer top and lace bra was perfectly paired with her golden trophy. The Canadian comedy series “Schitt’s Creek” took home nine Emmy awards for its sixth and final season, making Emmys history.

American actress and director Regina King stole the show in a breathtaking blue Schiaparelli Couture gown that showed off her incredible figure. Winning the Emmy for outstanding lead actress award for “Watchmen” the bejeweled gown paired with Nouvel Heritage jewels and Stuart Weitzman heels was a virtual show stopper.
