In support of burn victims and Coronavirus pandemic patients, Ahl Masr Foundation signed a cooperation protocol with Egyptian Super Star Mohamed Ramadan, where 5% of the celebrity’s new branded face masks will be donated to Ahl Masr Foundation. The press conference commencing the protocol signing was held at Ahl Masr trauma and burn hospital site and attended by Super Star Mohamed Ramadan and Chairman of Ahl Masr Foundation Dr. Heba El Sewedy, along with a number of burn victims.

The new line of face masks, which reflects Ramadan’s distinct persona and features trendy designs and cotton materials, are available for purchase through Souq.com, the strategic sales partner, as well as Hyper One and Carrefour hyper markets. During the press conference, victims shared their inspiring stories with the audience and Mohamed Ramadan, and expressed their gratitude for Ramadan’s support to the cause.

Among these stories was Gehad’s (27 years old) who has suffered from burn injuries since she was 2 years old, and was connected with Ahl Masr through Ramadan, who put her in contact with the foundation after she sought his help. Mohamed Ramadan attributed his success to his audience and fans who always support him. “Such support obliges me to give back to the community and help those less privileged,” he stated.

Praising the efforts of Ahl Masr Foundation in alleviating the suffering of burn victims, Ramadan also stressed on the importance of shedding the light on the burn victims’ cause and supporting them financially and psychologically against the bullying and harassment they face throughout their lives. He added that art plays a crucial role in spreading awareness of these issues. Ramadan also highlighted the importance of following the precautionary measures against Coronavirus, encouraging and urging his fans to do the same to protect themselves from the virus, and help curbing the spread of the pandemic.

Dr. Heba El Sewedy expressed her pleasure of signing the protocol with Mohamed Ramadan, stressing on the celebrities’ role in supporting the society. “It is of great importance to support burn victims who now amount to almost 250,000 cases every year, yet the cause is not getting enough attention,” she stated, adding that it only takes 6 hours to save the life of a burn victim, which showcases the need of a specialized burn hospital.

Ahl Masr Foundation has been keen on supporting burn victims, dedicating its efforts for the establishment of the first and largest hospital specialized in the free treatment of burn victims in Egypt and the MENA region. The hospital’s construction is progressing steadily as almost 75% of the works are done, with an expected experimental opening in 2021.
