Keeping Your Skin Hydrated

With the temperature and humidity levels rising these days, it’s about time we up our skincare game. Water loss from your body leads to dehydration, which can cause your skin to feel irritated and dry. It also means more sweat, more oil and quicker skin cell production. With that in mind, here are some tips on how to keep your skin healthy and hydrated this summer.

Cleanse regularly

Your first mission is to avoid the accumulation of sweat and oil on the surface of the skin and in your pores. You don’t want unnecessary black and whiteheads, trust me. In order to prevent the appearance of blemishes, you need to wash your face at the very least twice – morning and evening.

If you’ve spent the day tanning, it’s important to cleanse your face to remove sunscreen or any form of SPF. Otherwise, it can clog your pores, and also lead to blemishes. There are two Neutrogena cleansers that will do the job for you:

Exfoliate away

While cleansing, make sure to really take time washing your face or even opting for a face scrub if you have big pores. My personal favorite is the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Face Scrub. Exfoliation is so important because it removes dead skin cells and improves your blood circulation which will leave your skin glowing and prep your skin to actually benefit from your moisturizer. However, don’t over do it. You should only exfoliate a few times a week so as not to irritate the skin.

Try a hydrating mask
