It is not the time to take any chances; social distancing is the most fashionable choice right now. For the foreseeable future, it is important to take social distancing seriously as self-quarantine is being suggested by most global governments to flatten the curve of COVID-19. While social distancing can be a major buzzkill, there is no need to be culturally distanced. You can head to the museum or opera for a fancy night out…I mean in.

Virtual Gallery Hopping
Yes, you heard correctly. You can head to the museum…digitally! Google Arts & Culture is taking quarantined art aficionados on a tour around the world. Partnering with hundreds of museums and galleries you can now critique art from home thanks to Google. Galleries in the United States, Europe, and Asia have opened their doors to the public giving access to some of the world’s most preeminent art collections. Some museums provide virtual tours while others have provided high-resolution images of galleries. There are so many incredible works of art available at your fingertips. May we suggest a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art where online exhibits featuring Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Elsa Schiaparelli are perfect for fashionistas.

A Night at the Opera
It is a strange time for everyone from business owners to primary care works and this list includes artists. Canceling all live performances for the duration of the 2019-2020 season, New York’s famous Metropolitan Opera announced that they would be going digital! In a statement from the Met General Manager Peter Gelb, he says, “We’d like to provide some grand opera solace to opera lovers in these extraordinarily difficult times.” Lucky for opera lovers, the online streaming will continue throughout the duration of the closure.

To make coping easier, The Met Opera has released nightly opera streams that you can watch from the comfort of your own home. Starting at 7:30 p.m. EST the performances will be available to fans and stay online for 20 hours. You can even wear a posh opera outfit if you want to make the whole thing seem more regal.
