In the spring, H&M revealed its 2019 celebrity designer collaboration at the amfAR gala and the fashion world was momentarily speechless. The announcement of the Giambattista Valli x H&M

collection marks the 19th designer collaboration for H&M and the brand’s most red carpet-worthy collaboration to date. The Rome-born but Paris-based couture designer known for his lavish and often over-the-top dress designs launched his brand in 2005 and his first couture collection in 2011. “H&M gives me the opportunity to bring my vision of style and my celebration of beauty to a wider audience. The goal is to share my love for beauty and to be able to be part of everyone’s ‘happy moments’, to help create love stories all around the world,” Valli said in a statement.

How does the Parisian street couture of Giambattista Vallimix with H&Ms signature style? Giambattista Valli will be the first to tell you that H&M clients are not his, yet this unique collaboration is a move towards introducing the world of high-fashion to more people. Ann-Sofie Johansson, the creative advisor at H&M discussed the collaboration saying, “we are thrilled to collaborate with Giambattista Valli. He is the undisputed master of haute couture with a knack for the memorable silhouette. To be able to bring his signature styles to our customers is a dream come true. We can’t wait to see their reactions to this beautiful collection.”

Yes, high-fashion at H&M prices seems impossible but the Giambattista Valli x H&M line will offer chic choices for both men and women including dresses, separates and accessories. The collection will cater to a wide range of shoppers with tailored pieces like blazers to causal pieces like cargo pants and hoodies. The mix of items will showcase the designer’s range and ability to make even the most simple items ooze sophistication. Fans can look forward to stocking up ready-to-wear leather pants, miniskirts, ruffle dresses, blouses and Instagram worthy accessories. Giambattista Valli x H&M will be available in stores and online starting November.
