Angelina Jolie is an actress, filmmaker, humanitarian, Guerlain muse, mother and wonder woman who has spent the vast majority of her life in front of the camera. The icon has been involved in many projects throughout the years and has been no stranger to fame—often speaking out against oppression and being involved in philanthropy before it was trendy. Jolie has opened up the latest chapter of her life with a sultry video campaign for Mon Guerlain Intense perfume; she has worked with Guerlain before, but never this intimately. The video pays tribute to femininity and fierce women giving fans the opportunity to see Jolie’s home in northwestern Cambodia for the first time.

In 2003, the Hollywood star purchased her home in rural Cambodia, in order to give her adopted son, Maddox, the opportunity to connect with his Cambodian heritage. The purchase of the traditional home also gave Jolie insight into some of the environmental issues in the country and inspired her to help protect local wildlife from poachers; in order to conserve the land, she purchased the surrounding 60,000 hectares turning it into a wildlife reserve.

In the newest commercial, fans see Jolie opening her front door in the beautiful lush Cambodian rainforest and inviting them into her home and life in a new way. The first commercial for the brand was shot at her home in France but according to the star, this experience was more personal and intimate for her. “I like the idea that you represent something that is truly like how you live in real life. I think people know that: when there’s truth or when there’s a fairy tale. I think they prefer the truth,” Jolie said.

Directed by cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezski the commercial invokes many emotions and is nothing short of magical. The Oscar-winning actress exposes her home, body, and soul as she wanders through her personal hideaway to the sound of Wild Thing by the band The Troggs. The campaign is perfect for the new perfume that is woody and natural offering notes of patchouli, sandalwood, mandarin, lavender and vanilla.
