It is the golden age of television; anyone who disagrees hasn’t lost multiple days of their lives on the couch binge-watching Netflix. If you can’t get enough reboots, remakes, and live actions then you are in luck. Another ultra-popular show is coming back, however, this time it is being adapted from television to film. Yes, everyone’s favorite high school science teacher turned drug dealer will be back this October when the AMC series Breaking Bad will be turned into a film. Fans who have been patiently waiting since the series ended in 2013 will finally get their Breaking Bad fix.

The Emmy-winning drama Breaking Bad ran for five seasons on AMC then later became available to a wider audience on Netflix. Only a few details have been confirmed, thus far about the new movie, whereby this far we do know that the movie’s title is El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and the tentative release date is on October 11th, 2019. The film will have a similar vibe as the original series creator Vince Gilligan will write, executive-produce and direct the project. This film will pick up where the series left off following character Jesse Pinkman (played by Aaron Paul) as he escapes from captivity in a Nazi compound. “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future,” Netflix said in a statement.

We do know that Aaron Paul’s character will be at the heart of the story and we curiously ask…what about Walter White? After the film was announced back in February, Bryan Cranston, aka Walter White, went on The Dan Patrick Show and discussed what he knew about the upcoming film and casting decisions. He shocked everyone by saying he was yet to be cast and hadn’t even seen a script! He opened up about the show and his feelings towards being involved in the project saying, “if Vince Gilligan asked me to do then absolutely. He’s a genius. It’s a great story and there’s a lot of people who felt they wanted to see some kind of completion to these storylines that were left open and this idea, from what I’m told, gets into at least a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey.”
