Hair accessories are back with a vengeance and if you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet…you might as well since 80’s and 90’s inspired hair accessories are not going anywhere anytime soon. Don’t know where to start? These four hair accessory trends will inspire you to upgrade your hair.

Headbands

Headbands are the most diverse trend as there are so many styles, colors, and ways to wear them that it might just make your head hurt. The return of the headband can be traced to Prada in the fashion house’s SS19 show, where the key summer accessory was a headband. Since the show, headbands have been worn uptown and downtown with everything from evening wear to beach dresses. The headband trend is fun and easy and thankfully transitioning into the fall season.

Hair Clips and Barrettes

Keep your bangs out of your eyes but…make it fashion! The hair clips and barrettes that collected dust in our bathrooms are now back and better than ever. Isn’t the point of a reboot to learn from our mistakes? Well the clips and barrettes of years past have gotten a makeover and come in an assortment of shapes and sizes and have been seen everyone from the catwalk to social media. Sparkles, diamonds, flowers, you name it and you can find it on a hair accessory.  Go wild—the easiest way to add some pizzazz to your outfit is to add a fun hair accessory!

Scrunchies

Thank goodness this trend is continuing into the fall. The 90’s are trending now, but the 80’s scrunchie is still a must-have hair accessory. The practicality and utility of the scrunchie cannot be argued and they are extra special because they are gentle on hair and prevent snagging or pulling. The gymnastics inspired hair accessory is so trendy that they come in just about every color under the sun. Match your scrunchie to your sundress or go bold with a neon print—the options are almost limitless.

Statement Piece

If you want to go big or go home then a statement hair piece is for you! This trend is funky and will let you wear your heart on your sleeve or…in your hair. Cliché or not, the statement hair piece is a fun way to express personal sentiments from LOVE to PEACE to WHAT-EVER.
