Rethink tour merchandise because Grammy award winner Taylor Swift and fashion designer Stella McCartney are changing the game forever with their newest collaboration Stella x Taylor Swift. The dynamic duo has teamed up to create a collection for Swift’s new album, Lover. The fashion line includes tee-shirts, hoodies, reusable water bottles, tote bags, and other merchandise inspired by graffiti art, old school vintage band tees, album lyrics, and even Swift’s cat Benjamin Button.
A press release for the Stella x Taylor Swift fashion line revealed that the materials involved in the line are made from sustainable organic cotton making the new line sustainable, as well as stylish. “Taylor is a huge supporter of Stella’s pioneering work in the field of sustainability and is excited to be able to offer pieces to fans that are kinder to the environment.”
Stella is a British designer that started her collection in 2001 and has been a go-to designer for celebrities like Meghan Markle, Beyonce, and other A-listers. If her last name sounds familiar it’s because she is the daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and animal rights activist Linda McCartney making her as close to English royalty as one can get. In the fashion world, Stella’s designs are known for being chic and trendy, yet her business ethics and dedication to having a fur and leather-free brand, as well as championing sustainable fabrics has made her a trail-blazer on the sustainable fashion front.
The Stella x Taylor Swift collaboration was announced in June via Instagram Live and it wasn’t a huge surprise to super fans as Swift had been spotted in many of McCartney’s designs over the past few years. The two friends have even been spotted out on the town in London, where they often go for drinks when Swift is on that side of the pond. “She’s been a friend for a really long time and just a woman that I respect so much,” Swift said, before adding, “I respect what she creates, how she creates it and there’s so much whimsy and imagination and romance to the clothing that she designs.” The collaboration will be available to fans via a pop-up shop in New York City from August 23rd to 25th. Other exclusive options from the line including a bomber jacket and handbag will be available online exclusively at StellaMcCartney.com.
