This year, the theme of the Met Gala was Camp: Notes on Fashion. This eclectic theme gave celebrities the creative license to let out their wild side. The theme set up summer 2019 to be the boldest yet with celebrities spotted rocking neon trends from Calabasas to Cannes. Make-up artist Neil Young says, “Neon accents work for any age and complexion when they are used as a simple gesture.” You don’t want to go full neon, but rather pick a feature on the face to create a subtle pop and avoid using the same color on another part of your face. “That could be an eyeliner or a stand-alone neon pink or orange lip, so long as they are allowed to be the only star of your make-up.” Summer isn’t over yet, so here are four ways to wear neon now!

Barbie pink, neon purples, and every color of the rainbow can add to your already sultry pout. The trend is easy and a fun way to add a pop of color to your usual makeup routine. The key with bright lipstick colors is to make sure that your lips are exfoliated beforehand so the color is consistent and lays flat.
Neon Nails With so many fun nail trends this summer it is easy to forget that a neon nail sends a bold statement. If you want to dip your toes into the sea of neons starting with a neon manicure or pedicure is a simple way to add a splash of color to your look. The array of nail polish brands that carry neon colors is endless, but make sure to go with a reputable brand for the best results. Polish needs to be applied with a base coat, at least two polish coats, and a top coat for best and boldest results.
