The summer trend is simple—small designs or nail art applied minimally to nude or clear nails. The trend is essentially a nail accent on one, two, or all of your nails. While very understated, this is one of the most popular nail trends for the summer season as it is easy and versatile. From small flowers to simple designs the options are endless and a fun way to express your inner artist.

Metallic Polish

Usually saved for the holiday season, metallic nail polish colors are a very popular choice for the summer 2019 season. The reason is simple—metallic colors are posh no matter the time of year and are great for matching with most wardrobes, especially bright summer colors. Metallic polish is a fun way to get some summer glam and if a simple color change doesn’t seem extra enough for you then change up your regular manicure routine with a new nail shape. Switching from a square to a stiletto might just give you the confidence you need to take on a summer lunch with the in-laws or a tackle job interview.

Neutrals

Thank goodness this super-simple nail trend is still popular for summer. Neutral tone nails are here to stay for the long haul. That means all the nude shades of pinks, peaches, corals, salmons, beiges, and taupes are on the table for now and the foreseeable future. The good news is that this trend is super low maintenance and classy but the hard part is finding your perfect neutral. Yes, it means exactly that…mini frames on your nails. The trend started a few years ago but is back to take over the last half of 2019 and will probably stick around well into 2020. The design can be done with two-tone polish colors or more extravagant materials like pearls, Swarovski crystals, or whatever else you can think of. This fun trend is perfect for those that love to take big nail risks or at least those who have a good relationship with their manicurist.

Yellow

No really, just yellow. This is not the Pantone color of the year but it is one-hundred-percent the time to go yellow! The fun and bright color is perfect for the summer season and yellow nails are everywhere in every size and shape. Cheerful yellow is invoking serious golden sunset, sunflowers, and citrus vibes.

Two-Tone

 If you can’t pick just one then choose two! Two-toned nails are the best way to have your cake and eat it too. Sleek and glossy two-toned manicures are all the rage and a fun way to experiment with color combos. This trend can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be from a base color with a hint of a second shade to ombre. If you want to play it safe choose two similar colors or if you want to stand out then go bold with contrasting colors.
