Stay Moisturized It is important no matter the season or temperature to stay moisturized. This is easier said than done since moisturizing is essential to happen from the inside out, as well as the outside in. Drinking plenty of water is the first step, but changing your beauty routine will also help keep skin balanced. First, always wash with lukewarm water rather than hot water to keep the body’s natural oils locked in. Second, moisturize your skin immediately afterward to add back the moisture and lock in the dampness. Third, always protect skin from the sun by wearing a daily SPF in your lotion or foundation, which will keep the sun from drying skin out. Lastly, use face masks on a weekly basis to lock in moisture.

Get More Beauty Sleep One of the easiest ways to keep your body healthy is to get the proper amount of rest it needs each night. Life is busy, and pulling an all-nighter happens every once in a while, but it shouldn’t become a habit. Everyone’s sleep needs vary, but it is important to get enough sleep to let your body repair itself. On average, 7-9 hours will do the trick and an effort to get enough beauty sleep each night needs to be a priority. Don’t think of it as a selfish indulgence, think of it as a necessary way to be your healthy, happiest, most beautiful self. Something as simple as going to bed at the same time each night is an easy beauty hack that will have your entire body looking and feeling its bes

Bed Time = Makeup Off The fact is that it’s easy to forget to take your make-up off before bed. Lives are busy and sometimes the last thing on our minds is a night beauty routine. The truth is sleeping with a full face of makeup will cause more problems than just a dirty pillowcase. Dermatologists warn that sleeping with makeup on can lead to breakouts and premature wrinkles. Rather than spending time being reactive and cover up breakouts or buying expensive wrinkle creams an easy beauty hack is to simply invest five minutes each night washing your face before bed. Being proactive will be worth it in the long run and the small amount of effort hardly seems like a beauty hack; your pores will thank you.

Go Au Naturel This sounds scary and counterintuitive to a beauty hack but going au naturel once in a while is a great way to keep your hair and skin looking its best. Again, many beauty rituals are reactive rather than proactive and it is important to keep hair and skin healthy rather than just polished. For natural hair, skipping the blow dryer and flat iron for your natural hair is a simple way to reduce dryness and breakage. When it comes to make-up do the same and skip foundation every once and a while to let the skin breathe. Detoxing skin and hair will give it a break from harsh chemicals and a chance to renew and replenish.

Make your Manicure Last Forever Ok, these hacks won’t make your manicure last forever but they will definitely help get you through until your next appointment. First, always make sure to take care of your manicure by washing your hands with mild soap rather than hand sanitizer. The harsh chemicals break down the top coat leaving you vulnerable to chipping. Second, apply this same rule to washing dishes and doing housework, cleaning chemicals, and hot water is a sure way to ruin your nails. If you still end up with a chip don’t panic, you can fake it till you make it by adding sparkles to the base of a grown out manicure to create an ombre effect. If the tips of your nails chip do the reverse and add some color to make a funky super-thin French tip. This way you and your nails will make it until your next appointment.
