Captain Marvel
We’ve been waiting for this for a long time. With all the hype around Wonder Woman, we have been craving another female superhero movie, and this time, Marvel is delivering. Starring Oscar-winner Brie Larson, this Marvel adventure is about an air-force pilot called Carol Danvers, who – no shocker there – has superpowers.

Dumbo
If you haven’t seen Dumbo before (which would be crazy), it’s about an adorable, young circus elephant that learns to fly. We’re crossing our fingers that this remake does justice to the original masterpiece.
Release date: March 29
Avengers: Endgame
With the biggest cliffhanger in Marvel history and most of our beloved characters presumed dead in Avengers: Infinity War, we certainly want to know what on earth the writers were thinking and what they’ve come up with for the latest installment of the series. Nonetheless, the battle between Marvel’s greatest superheroes and their ultimate archenemy, Thanos, continues…
Release date: April 26
John Wick: Chapter Three
If you’re a fan of the mystery/crime John Wick series, this chapter is something to look forward to. Starring Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry and Ian McShane, the plot is yet to be released but you can count on more of the edgy and action-packed scenes from the first two installments.
Release date: May 17
Aladdin
Yes, it’s almost here! The buzz about this movie has been through the roof, especially since it was announced that the main character is played by Egyptian-Canadian actor Mena Massoud. If this wasn’t exciting enough, it looks like director Guy Ritchie has successfully and religiously stuck to the spirit of the original animation film.
Release date: May 24
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
In this film sequel, the secret zoological agency Monarch confronts an array of giant monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who clashes with Mothra, Rodan, and his archrival, the three-headed King Ghidorah. Did we also mention that Millie Bobby Brown plays a main character here?
Release date: May 31
Men In Black: International
Reuniting Thor: Ragnarok stars Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth, this movie is about catching and exposing a mole in the Men in Black organization. While this sequel doesn’t star the series’ foundational characters, we’re excited to see how this will turn out.

Release date: June 21
Spider-Man: Far From Home
We have to admit we’ve been loving Tom Holland’s charming, youthful take on Spider-Man as a character so far, even though we still revere Tobey Maguire’s classic performance. This movie’s plot follows Peter Parker on summer vacation in Europe, where he has to save his friends from a villain known as Mysterio.
Release date: July 5
The Lion King
Let’s be honest. This remake will either be an epic fail or a beautiful success. With all our hearts, we’re hoping for the latter because no one wants to see their childhood ruined any time soon, especially with our favorite Disney classic.
Release date: July 19
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw
This film is set to be the first spinoff from the prized Fast & Furious series. Flashing the spotlight on the dubious partnership between US Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs (played by Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (played by Jason Statham), this movie is definitely on our must see list.
Release date: August 2
Joker
It’s about time! We finally have another Joker movie and this time, it is directed by Todd Phillips who managed to offer a background story to the Batman psycho villain. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, we will watch the Joker’s storyline unfold as a failed stand-up comedian goes insane and turns into a deranged murderer.
