Flair Magazine Celebrating the inauguration of a heartfelt cultural photo exhibition titled A Journey through Thailand: Land of Unforgettable Experience, the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo organized a reception last month and launched a photobook at Lan Tania Restaurant, Hilton Cairo Heliopolis.
The event was a collaboration between the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Dubai Office in order to promote Thailand and Thai culture in Egypt. Earlier this year in March, the embassy had invited Asmaa Gamal, one of the most well-known photographers in Egypt, to travel to Thailand and capture the various aspects of Thai culture through her photographs. All photos used in both photobook and photo exhibition were taken during that trip.
About eighty guests attended the reception ranging from members of diplomatic corporations to representatives of Egyptian government and tour operators and journalists. They were given a tour of the photo exhibition and received a copy of the photobook as they left. The photo exhibition, held at Hilton Cairo Heliopolis, was then open to the public from 30th September to 10th October, 2018.
The Embassy plans to further distribute the photobooks to libraries and other entities in Egypt so as to ensure that this bilingual book (in both English and Arabic), which serves as an invaluable source of information about Thailand, can reach a wider Egyptian audience.
