If you’re looking to buy a new car these days or you’re just a general car enthusiast, we took the liberty to catalog some of the newest additions of 2018 car models for you. Here’s a taste of what recently hit the Egyptian market from the long-awaited BMW X2 to the latest family car from Mitsubishi.

BMW X2

Long Awaited X Model

This alluring front-wheel drive with agile handling shares the same foundational concept of its predecessor, the X1, except that it’s a sleeker version with a more stylish, sportier design. It makes 228 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with eight-speed automatic transmission. As for connectivity options, it has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay. Safety technology includes lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, forward-collision warning, and low-speed automated emergency braking.

Volvo XC60

Scandinavian Safety

Voted World Car of the Year, this mid-size crossover provides the perfect balance between comfort and control. Top Gear describes its décor as “as Skandi as a Stockholm boutique hotel bar”. All models come with a 2.0-liter inline-four. The turbo T5 models make 250 horsepower and the turbo and powerfully charged T6 makes 316 horsepower. Concerning the famously anticipated Volvo safety tech, it has the standard automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist and an optional semi-autonomous driving mode.

DS 7 Crossback

French Finesse

Being the first of the second-generation models from DS Automobiles, this premium car stands out specifically with its lighting. Every headlamp has four active ice-cube LED blocks that rotate when you unlock the car and then cast a downward beam that reflects overlapping triangles. For the engine, you have a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol with 222bhp. Inside, the infotainment screen is full of apps and tools with proximity sensors that bring it to life every time your hand comes close.

Lexus LX 570 and LS 500

Luxury on Wheels

Lexus, finally available in Egypt, brings two of its latest models to the market: the LX, a luxury crossover available in petrol with a 5.7-liter V8 with 403 lb-ft of torque, and then the LS, a flagship Sedan available with 3.5-liter V6 Four Cam 24-valve, twin turbochargers (V35A-FTS, unleaded). A key feature in the LX is the moon roof with a power tilt/slide, one-touch mode with jam protection system, while the LS offers a 12.3-inch EMV (Electro Multi-Vision) display with Remote Touch Interface, a 23 speaker Mark Levinson® sound system with DVD and a sear seat entertainment system.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and GLC SUV

Beauties from Benz

The beautiful GLC Coupe has a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 241 horsepower and nine-speed automatic transmission. It also has a power sunroof and liftgate, a 7.0-inch touchscreen and automated emergency braking, not to mention how pretty it is. As for the GLC SUV, it has a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine, and offers flexibility of the folding rear seats and optional Air Body Control suspension that constantly adjusts to whatever road surface you drive on.

Mitsubishi Xpander

Expanding your Lifestyle

The Xpander screams family car with its versatile seating arrangements and body size that can carry up to seven people (overall width is 1,750 mm and length is 4,475 mm). It also has a 1.5-litre DOHC gasoline engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) that can produce 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque matched to a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Rightly so, Mitsubishi describes it as “next-generation MPV that will expand your lifestyle.”
