Azza Fahmy’s Desert Delight
In their latest collection, Azza Fahmy takes us on a mystical and enchanted cultural journey inspired by the continents of North Africa, with Egypt’s Eastern and Western deserts, India, Asia, with a nod to the era of the Ottoman Empire for the 2018 collection entitled ‘Gypsy’. Intricately designed by Amina Ghali, Azza Fahmy’s Head of Design, the 14 piece hand-crafted collection creatively epitomises the spirit of avant-garde desert lifestyles and delivers a mix of multi-cultural characteristics and shapes of tribal jewellery while celebrating the vibrancy of the Desert Gypsy woman and the modern nomad traveller.
Messika’s Shahrazad
Recently released during BaselWorld, Messika Paris’s pieces from the latest High Jewellery collection comes the exquisite Shahrazad Shirin collection as part of Arabian Nights collection. Inspired by the tales of the Arabian Nights, and intimately linked to the beauty of the women who appear within them, with Shirin being the queen of queens amongst these enchanting stories. The Shirin choker and bandeau necklace showcases a perfect diagonal alignment of lines of 77 marquise-cut diamonds. Beautifully versatile; the three rows underneath the necklace are detachable. This audacious necklace is complemented by a ring to be worn on the middle and ring fingers, linked by a delicate chain adorned with diamonds, as well as a bracelet and a pair of asymmetrical earrings that clip onto the lobe at different levels.
Reem Jano’s Connection
Reem Jano jewellery has launches its SS’18 collection titled Connect to the Source, inspired from the true nature of humanity and the connection with one’s inner-self, spirituality, and everlasting bliss. The collection features an array of 22 sterling silver and 18k gold pieces, all of which make a bold statement complimented by rich space colors including shades of blue, black, green and orange. The use of sterling silver attracts positivity since it’s closely associated with the moon; one of its key traits is that it increases sensitivity and warmth within people.
Delectable Jewels from Bulgari
More than 100 new pieces were created for Bulgari’s latest high jewellery collection. But what has our mouths running is their Festa dell’Infanzia collection, which has a playful twist. The collection is inspired by dreams of childhood and happiness. “The main inspiration of the Festa collection is happiness. Joy, and sharing that joy with others in a public or private celebration is very much part of the Italian art de vivre,” says Lucia Silvestri, director of creation at Bulgari. The collection includes delectable designs which include ice-cream and lollipop brooches.
