This year, the 8th edition for the Creative Industry Summit gathered a variety of the greatest minds internationally, regionally and locally. Keynote speakers included Naguib Sawires, Executive Chairman of Orascom Telecom Media and Technology Holding, Tarek Miknas, CEO of FP7 in Middle East and North Africa, Dana Griffin, Founder of INNRdesign and Leena Kewlani, Content Director of DMS, Choueiri Group. While most speeches were rather engaging, one event had the ultimate spotlight: the hysterical interview between Abla Fahita, the self-made widow puppet/presenter, and Sophia the talking robot from Hanson Robotics.
For those who sometimes wonder whether robots will one day take over the world, here’s your answer. At the summit, she was asked repeatedly by both Abla Fahita and Ossama Kamal, DMC TV and Radio Host, if that was her intention, to which she replied that she does not wish to replace humans but work alongside them. Simple and straightforward. But maybe we should still keep our guards up, just in case she’s lying.
The overall summit program was filled with presentations, discussions and forums about content creation. “This year’s summit is an opportunity for everyone to expand their horizons creatively and to use the knowledge shared to expand their businesses,” said Amr Ashraf, one of the founding partners of the Creative Industry Summit.
