On November 22nd, Cairo Festival City Mall presented Cairo Fashion Festival brought by ‘OPPO: Selfie expert and leader’’. CFCM hosted the capital’s largest fashion event for the 9th time, since its first show in 2012.Talents from all over the world ranging from designers, influencers to celebrities came together at Cairo Festival City Mall parking lot to give Cairo a wonderful night full of trends, culture, and glamour.
The Egyptian fashion scene blossomed from the studios and workshops of designers, with golden hands and sheer unmatchable talents to the stages. Who would’ve thought that we’re already reaching the 9th season of the Cairo Fashion Festival, taking the city by storm this week as beautiful adorned socialites and celebrities grace the Cairo Fashion Festival red carpet?
Fashion icon Zeynab El Helw, also known as Fashion Pirate, the talented beautiful actress Jamila Awad and the brilliant designer Hany El Behery made a graceful appearance this season.
Cairo Fashion Festival season 9 was hosted by the stunning radio presenter “Zeinab Hegarty” who introduced the show with wit and charm before each runway show, keeping the audience engaged.
Zeynab stated that CFF is not only showcasing fashion but presenting trends in hair and make-up sponsored by Kriss Beauty Salons & Morshed make up studios. She then assured that the success of Cairo Fashion Festival wouldn’t be the same without the media sponsors, Daily News, Egypt Today, Business Today, Ladybird, Flair, 365 things to do in Cairo, Cairo Scene and Cairo Zoom.
Throughout the day, guests enjoyed CFF9’s Fashion Shows at Cairo Festival city mall parking lot with over 4000 guests. Designers had the opportunity to display on a much more intimate setting their latest collections through the creative Fashion Presentation that was taken over by the fabulous stylist Gehad Abdallah; allowing for guests to admire the designs up-close and personal. The designers featured in the fashion presentation included Marwa El Sayed (359), Heritage by Ahmed Hamdy, Sara Elshenawy, Ola Azzam & OPPO Selfie expert & Leader .
No fashion festival can happen without a runway show lined with gorgeous models decked in signature pieces; this year the runway was incredible.
First designer to show was Bardess, who amazed everyone by her wonderful artistic pieces followed by Diva Couture collections who stole everyone’s eyes during the show.
After these incredible two shows, Sara Gabr started to show her beautiful collection inspired by nobleness and royalty combining with Comfort and Creativity.
No doubt, everyone was waiting for the closing Ceremony, and last show was such an outstanding closure for CFF9, Mary Theotoki who came all the way long from Athens Inspired by 30 years of excellence and experience. Greek designer Mary Theotoki showcased her Haute Couture collection through CFF for the first time in Egypt, it was very clear that everyone was amazed by her collection.
This season was full of surprises and when talk about surprises we must not forget the biggest surprise of all; this year Cairo Fashion Festival collaborated with the London College of Fashion for the third time in a row to grant a fully covered short course to one of CFF designers in 2018 funded by Cairo Festival City Mall.
Austin Martin, CFCM General Manager, made a speech before announcing the winning designer, stating “At CFCM, we pride ourselves on being a leader in the market, which is why we are proud to be the host of one of the foremost fashion events in the region. We thrive to nurture fashion talents, and having the opportunity to collaborate with the London College of Fashion for the third time is a great accomplishment for us at CFCM.”
Fashion icon “Zeynab El-Helw,” also known as “The Fashion Pirate,” expressed her happiness to be judging this competition and she stated that Egypt has a real great potential and such an amazing talented designers. She chose “Sara el Shennawy” to be the lucky winner as she presented a very creative, breathtaking collection in the fashion presentation.

“OPPO, the selfie expert and leader also made a very special appearance this season. They Joined forces with CFF and created a heated competition on the fashion presentations among designers who created a very unique and beautiful pieces inspired by OPPO’s logo and brand identity and everyone was amazed by these designs. The designers will have a chance to win a special prize to be announced later!
Commenting on the competition, Andy Shi, OPPO’s Managing Director, Africa & Middle East, said: “CFF is, in our opinion, the biggest fashion event in Egypt, and this is why we had to collaborate with them to reach the Egyptian youth through fashion. OPPO and Fashion have always had a global seasoned relationship and our collaboration with CFF is our way to bring this legacy to Egypt. We launched the OPPO competition this year as a way to encourage designers to create and push their limits to the max.”
