Egypt’s top fashion event Cairo Fashion Festival is back for its ninth edition brought to you by OPPO, Selfie Expert and Leader. Kicking things up a notch, this year, CFF introduced “Fashion Talks” to the agenda. Presented by Sherine Hamdy and packed with all the top fashion experts, the talks featured panelists discussing their experience in the industry, with OPPO’s panel discussing the rise of selfies and its growing role and collaborations with the fashion industry. From CFF and America’s next top model to Victoria Secret Fashion Show Shanghai 2017 selfies are contributing to the fashion industry around the world in a big way.
Whilst many see selfies as a sign of vanity OPPO has embraced the selfie trend using it as a platform to promote the concept of true self-expression. OPPO is all about natural beauty, self-acceptance, and self-expression, and that’s what their panelists discussed during the talks; discussing how their selfie cameras is different, as well as how the use of the beautify feature that gives their users the freedom to enhance their selfies, whilst keeping their look natural and capturing the real beauty of users.
With the rise of selfies, OPPO talked about how selfies has become a universal form of self-expression, and a fashion statement, thanks to social media and with phones becoming an everyday necessity, brands have now started to compete with new and unique designs; making phones a top fashion accessory and a key element of fashion expressed through the selfie. Due to that, OPPO has been collaborating with top fashion leaders around the world.
During the panels, OPPO discussed their collaboration with CFF, which has now been running for 2 seasons, in addition to America’s next top model, where they sponsored a full cycle and made history by officially acknowledging selfies as a fashion statement. More recently, OPPO also collaborated with Victoria’s Secret show, which for the first time took place in Shanghai. Victoria’s Secret Angels’ Lily Aldridge & Candice Swanepoel were announced as International ambassadors, while the highly-acclaimed photographer, Russell James, was announced as its portrait photography consultant.
