Another day in New York City, another fabulous boutique hotel to tempt us away from our former favourites. Still, the New York EDITION might just be the one that tempts us to New York hotel monogamy once and for all. Newly opened in May and just steps from the heart of the city, this social urban hotspot is the home away from home we have always dreamed of.

Not too big and not too small, the New York EDITION is just right at 273 keys, a spa, two bars, and one fabulous restaurant. With just enough buzz to keep it interesting but not enough to deprive us from a good night’s sleep we love the proportions of this property. 
We also love its historic origins; the hotel is located in a 1909 clock tower building that once held the distinction of being the tallest structure in the world. The historic architecture provides stunning 360-degree views of New York City, making guests feel right at home in the centre of it all.
Located close to Madison Square Garden, and within walking distance of our favourite New York neighbourhoods from Union Square to Tribeca, the EDITION is central enough to be convenient, but not in a way that evokes Times Square-themed nightmares. Once again, it’s just right.
The décor combines the understated chic yet warm and comfortable vibes we love in our favourite properties. The lobby and lobby bar are sleek and minimalist with warm touches, showcasing views of Madison Square Park through dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows. An intimate and carefully decorated restaurant and a jewel box spa make guests feel that they are relaxing and indulging in the effortless surroundings of a gracious and grand home. 
The guestrooms are designed around picture perfect views of the surrounding city, complemented by rich oak finishings, bronze accessories, and white accents. Carefully curated touches and striking black and white photography complete the elegant yet welcoming accommodations. We love the exclusive penthouse and one-bedroom suite options for a little more space.
Of course, the New York EDITION lacks in none of the personalised services we require, nor does it let us down when it comes to comfort, elegance, style and that special feel of being right at home in the midst of the hustle and bustle of New York City. Only time will tell where our gaze could linger, but for now we are firmly enamoured with this charming new New York landmark.
