The 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is an upscale midsized sedan that boasts luxury and simple elegance at a glance that is reflected in its performance.

By Farah Amin

The Lincoln MKZ comes in three engines choices; for the performance-minded there is the V6, for the efficient there’s the hybrid and the EcoBoost® gives you the best of both worlds, using three technologies, the boost of turbocharging, the precision and efficiency of direct injection, and the sophistication of twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT). The result is 4-cylinder efficiency plus V6-like performance with a 240 horsepower and a torque of 270 lb.-ft.

The MKZ with a V6 comes at 3.7L and is for the driver who wants a higher-performance experience of 300 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque with Ti-VCT controls when intake/exhaust valves open and close, and optimizes combustion at full load to deliver power and low-speed torque for responsive passing and merging.
The model gas efficient hybrid powertrain comprises an electric motor and a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle I-4 gas engine. The power sources combine to generate 188 net horsepower.

Whether you’re driving on dry pavement, snow, mud or gravel, you’ll feel confident knowing your Lincoln MKZ is equipped with available Intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD). Where it monitors road conditions and automatically distributes engine torque to the wheels having the most traction at all times.

Driving this car is taken to a whole other level with it’s continuous controlled damping where the body motions are detected and sensors adjust steering and braking in milliseconds. It also has EPAS, which is electric power assisted steering where it adapts to the driving environment at every turn providing it with an easy more fluid feel while steering and it also becomes more firm on the ground as the speed is increased for a more safe and smooth ride.

The luxury sedan arrives in stunning integration of lines and curves. The signature Lincoln sleek split-wing grille, that makes the MKZ aerodynamic in shape, incorporate with headlamps creating a flow with the contours of the hood that is unified and modern in their design.
The MKZ has a fully retractable panoramic roof with a 15.2-sq.-ft. glass panel that offers a remarkable view that fills the cabin with natural light. The opening is the biggest among sedans.
Sharper and brighter than conventional incandescent bulbs LED tail lamps and headlamps wrap beautifully around the car giving it style and function. They also illuminate faster and use less current.

Innovative technologies like SYNC® with MyLincoln Touch™ are built-in flawlessly where genuine wood trims the instrument panel dash and the cabin is lit over the entire cabin making it glow creating a warm luxurious mood. And the ergonomic transmission controls are set in a vertical column of buttons on the center instrument panel.
