The new 2014 Acura RLX has not only added the letter “X” to its predecessor model, but has definitely turned the midsized car into an all new advanced-hybrid model; arguably the best in its class.

The RLX in short words is an all-wheel drive gas-electric mid-premium sedan with pretty stellar numbers; 337 horsepower and EPA 30 miles per gallon that is combined with effectively with the V8 power in a five-passenger sedan with fuel economy of a four-cylinder car.The engine is a 24-valve, 3.5-iter, V-6 and 310 HP and a torque of 273 lb-ft., with a seven- speed dual-clutch transmission with its own integrated e-motor starter.
The rear passenger space is quite spacious (38.8 inches) and the trunk is 12 cubic feet, big enough to stow four lightweight golf bags, all due to it’s 2 inch increase to the wheelbase that gives it a limo like feel.

Thanks to Acura’s new Precision All-Wheel Steer (PAWS) system it’s easy to steer this full-size care around town, despite the increased interior dimensions and increased width and overall length of the vehicle. The PAWS system also alters the angle of the rear wheels with steering and braking input making the car more agile and stable while the car is being driven at high speeds.

The interior has been revamped to have a high quality trimmed, well stitched leather. The RLX features new twin 7-inch on-demand multiuse LCD display screens where the upper screen is responsible primarily for navigation, and the lower one is for the radio and climate controls. It also includes the next-generation version of AcuraLink, where the button is placed on the ceiling, for route information, vehicle assistance, emergency services.

From the outside Acura has been given a fresh exterior design with skinned doors, front fenders and an aluminum engine hood and is the most aluminum intensive since the original NSX. The RLX has quite the unique jewel-like LED headlights with an overall elegant design that is in line with Acura’s sedan style.
