Meubles Bijoux

The Kam Tin story began in Hong Kong, founded by Yin Zing Luk in the 1970s. When the Japanese invaded southern China, Luk took refuge in Kam Tin–literally meaning fields of silver and gold–in the New Territories. At the time, the family kept its fortune hidden away in a turquoise-encrusted jewelry box, which later provided inspiration for the young businessman.

After the war, Luk moved to England for three years, then returned to Hong Kong.  The family business was incredibly successful, allowing Luk the luxury of not having to work; he thus indulged in his passion for design, poetry, and architecture…designing furniture and other items.  Nevertheless, he particularly loved semi-precious stone, and incorporated them into furniture pieces he made for a Chinese clientele.

In 2008, gallery owner Philippe Rapin decided to buy out Kam Tim in order to relaunch production, restoring vintage furniture, and put the pieces on display in his 88-Gallery in Paris.

Today, the meubles bijoux brand, with its furniture pieces decorated with an array of stones from India, Korea, Russia, andChina, is produced by expert craftsmen in a workshop in Germany.  Their consoles, cabinets, tables…and everything in between, fascinate collectors and lovers of curiosities all around the world.

The limited edition “Cloud” brass tables by Kam Tin are truly unique and one-of-a-kind!  They’re available in three different sizes, making them the perfect accessory which will add a dash of glamour, elegance, and luxury to any space they fill.
