Luxury Redefined

Let’s face it…we’re constantly thinking of new ways and ideas to revamp and redecorate our living spaces. For most of us, we would like to have homes that are elegant, unique, luxurious and classy…and for some reason, it seems difficult, when in reality…it isn’t at all that hard to achieve! When it comes to interior design, “luxury” has officially been redefined. The term no longer necessarily means ornate, gold leafed, or filled with intricate details; nowadays, “luxury” takes on a whole new meaning, which is something you should definitely bear in mind when embarking on a revamping journey.

Something Old & Something New

For a real luxurious feel, mix what is old with what is new. In other words, place a modern, framed photograph above a baroque fireplace, creating an eclectic focal point.

Pamper your Kitchen

Opt for modern, sleek, and upscale kitchen appliances. Anything built-in is also a plus that adds an extra dash of va va voom to your home.

Textures Galore

We just love textures! Use them wisely though, and do not limit yourself too much. Feel free to contrast textures for an extra lux feel. Also, think out of the box; in other words, do not just limit yourself to fabrics. Shading on a painting, a rug, and/or textured wallpaper look great as well.

For the Love of Coffee

Why walk to the kitchen when you can have your morning cup of coffee in bed?

Add a coffee station to your bedroom…now that’s luxury!

Unique=Luxurious

The more unique the better. The more it stands out, the more of an “oomph”’ it will add.

Yes, to Emotions!

Nowadays, spirit-free spaces are a big no no, and luxury is closely linked with the personality of a place as well as what it conveys. Make sure to incorporate an emotional thread into your décor.

Indulge…do not Overwhelm

Do not go overboard. In other words, if you feel overwhelmed, it’s probably kitschy…make sure your senses are indulged, not overwhelmed…period!

Go Green

Green interior design is very big right now. Just because it’s environmentally friendly, does not mean that it looks–or is–cheap. The greener you are, the better.

De-Clutter

Keep everything tidy and neat. Polished floors, organized storage, crisp and ironed sheets are definitely a “do.”

Just for You

Tailor-made furniture…made for you and only you…epitomizes luxury.

Art Lovers

When it comes to choosing artwork, it does not have to be an original Monet to be great! Make sure you find a piece that speaks to you, which will also enhance your emotional link to your space.

Feathery Touch

Opt for fine quality items that touch you…literally. Do not purchase items that are just for show. Think in terms of luxurious rugs, cashmere throws…you get the idea.

Goodbye Gold

Anything that is “too gold” is definitely out! Gold does not necessarily mean luxurious, it could simply turn into “tacky” if you include too much of it.Over-embellishments? No thank you!

Contrary to popular belief, furniture pieces that are too highly embellished are not luxurious! They’re simply gaudy and so last century!

Bold Statements

Take a risk! Feel free to make bold and daring statements. Instead of opting for a simple, white, ceiling fixture, why not go for a black crystal chandelier in stead?

Wall Coverings Galore!

For an instant and quick facelift, choose one or two walls, and purchase the most exquisite of wall coverings. The beautiful walls will work miracles when it comes to your newly revamped space.
