consider turning your bathroom into a media haven; in other words, feel free to add a surround sound system, which will enable you to listen to relaxing music while you enjoy a delightful bath. Also consider including a flat-screen television, where you can watch your favorite shows or movies. If you’re not so much of the “bathtub” type, why not add a steam shower; an excellent way to relieve tension and stress, your steam room will soon turn into one of your favorite spots around the house.
If you do, however, opt for a bathtub, do consider customizing the area around it. Feel free to use different tiles, paint textures, hang up pictures or an antique mirror to give the space a little more flair.
Fabrics are also a great way to add extra glamour to your bathroom. Instead of the traditional shower curtain, choose a more textured fabric. You could also try layering different patterns and colors to create an even stronger effect.
Lights also play a major role when it comes to proper design. Try to create large windows, which will allow as much natural light as possible to penetrate the room. You could also consider skylights, and/or indirect lighting. For a more eclectic feel, choose a unique chandelier.
Why not opt for natural materials? Create a beautiful wall of sandstone, rich solid wood furniture, rough granite or marble. You could also incorporate the same types of material in another way; include a natural rock sink or bathtub in your design. Raw materials last forever and ensure timeless elegance.
Vanities play a major role as well. Look for ones that have hand painted designs, wrought iron works, beautiful carvings, detailed handwork, and/or eclectic colors. If you’re into more modern designs, go for sleek and sharp lines, neutral colors, and polished surfaces.
Last but not least, remember, true luxury lies in the details. Feel free to add a fireplace, an elegant ottoman, antique statues or floating candle bowls, ensuring the final and well-deserved touch to your new bedazzling bathroom.
