Summer Trends we Love

Interior design trends are often tricky; which to follow, which to love and which to hate? Also, when it comes to your home, you probably don’t want to go for a trend that will die out after six months, leaving you hating the space! I always recommend designing according to your character and your passions. Nevertheless, after extensive research on the topic, I was delighted to find out that most interior designers are going back to basics, i.e. classics, which ensures that everyone will find a timeless trend to fall in love with!

Timeless Wicker
Wicker furniture has been around since….as long as I can remember! Constantly gracing patios and decks especially at beach houses. To my delight, wicker is back! Mix up your wicker pieces with some fun, summer fabrics, or opt for neutral hues and use the colors to accessories your surroundings instead!

Bold and Beautiful
I love bold colors! A few years back when jewel tones were trendy, I couldn’t get enough of them, and now, they’re making a comeback! Go all out with magenta or purple walls if you’re more into eccentric styles of décor, or opt for furniture pieces or table accents to keep it subtle.

Oriental Flair
Another trend I’ve always loved is everything and anything oriental! From kilim fabrics to Hindu and Buddhist symbols on furniture, I just can’t get enough! Add an elegant Buddha statue or Indian side table for the perfect dash of oriental flair!

Blues and Whites
When you think of summer, or beach houses, the combination of blue and white tones automatically comes to mind–at least in my case–to the point where this mixture has turned into a cliché; nevertheless, several renowned designers urge homeowners to go back to this timeless trend and it’s officially back for 2015.

Wonderful Wood
I think wood is one of the rawest, most luxurious and elegant elements out there, so I’m ecstatic that it’s back! From wooden furniture to wall décor, wood is everywhere! Whether you like it polished, distressed, recycled or reclaimed, it doesn’t matter! As I previously mentioned, pick the one that suits you most!
